Type of Ozone Therapy
EBO2 for Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that can cause a variety of symptoms including fatigue, headaches, joint pain and swelling, muscle aches and more. It is caused by the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi and is spread through the bites of infected ticks. Some people with Lyme disease show signs of neurological problems like memory loss or difficulty concentrating.
Nūūtro Clinic London is here for you! Having one of the first units of EBO2 therapy in Europe enables us to provide an alternative treatment for Lyme Disease.
Win the battle
Support Your Immune System
EBO2 is a type of ozone therapy, helping patients with Lyme disease by supporting the immune system. The immune system is responsible for protecting your body from bacteria, viruses and other foreign invaders. When it detects these invaders, it sends out white blood cells to fight them off. It’s like a military force—the more soldiers you have, the more likely you are to win the battle!
However, when you have Lyme disease, your immune system isn’t working as well as it could be because some of your soldiers are under attack by their own weapons: antibodies. Antibodies are proteins that identify foreign invaders and attack them by binding to their surface and signalling for other cells to come and help destroy them. But sometimes the immune system makes antibodies against its own healthy tissues—such as those in the brain or joints—and this causes problems like joint pain or headaches.
The Treatment
EBO2 helps fight off these bad antibodies so those good ones can do what they’re supposed to do: protect us against dangerous invaders!
EBO2 can treat other conditions associated with Lyme disease like joint pain and neurological symptoms (tingling), reduce inflammation and provide relief for chronic symptoms like fatigue. This is a great form of treatment as it is a non-invasive, painless form of therapy that uses oxygen, ozone and other elements to aid in treating Lyme disease.
We understand the struggle to find support when dealing with Lyme disease which is why Nūūtro is here for you. We aim to make a difference and by trying an alternative form of treatment, this could be the difference you needed!
The Knowledge
A study conducted from 2016-2017 treated 65 patients with chronic fatigue and recorded an improvement in 80% of participants, showing how ozone therapy can help improve feelings such as chronic fatigue, symptoms felt within patients with Lyme Disease.
Furthermore, research from Italy (Bocci) and Cuba (Menendez) both confirmed ozone therapy leads to a balance of inflammatory/anti-inflammatory cytokines. This is useful as it shows that ozone therapy reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines and increases cytokines that reduce inflammation (in Lyme disease, cytokines IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha are elevated), helping to alleviate symptoms.
